Chris received his PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2020 for research investigating virus-host interactions between herpes simplex virus and the human host. He immediately joined the Neely Lab as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in March of 2020, a month and year where the whole world finally understood the importance of virus research, and is now a Research Fellow. Chris specialises in the intersection between virology and molecular biology and has a primary interest in leveraging these fields as tools for high-throughput biotechnological applications. He is currently working on the development and implementation of a novel mammalian directed evolution platform as well as a virus-based tool for the discovery of novel bioactivities from a library of venom peptides.
