Dr. Cesar Moreno completed his PhD in Neuroscience from the Icahn School of Medicine in New York in 2015. He received post-doctoral training at the New York Stem cell Foundation and the UQ-StemCare centre. He joined the University of Sydney in 2021 as a Research Fellow for the Dr. John and Anne Chong Lab for Functional genomics. Dr. Moreno spearheads various projects that use CRISPR screening, these including from understanding brain development and function using brain organoids, to untangling mechanisms for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
